F-14A Tomcat, USNThe F-14A Tomcat has been the backbone of the U.S. Navy's fleet for defense for 20 years and is still a top of the line fighter. This beautiful model is constructed of select kiln-dried Philippine Mahogany and is made entirely from hand - from from the hand carving of the fuselage, wings and tail section - to the sanding of the aircraft contours. Every part is assembled precisely into place with high quality adhesive. After assembly the model passes through several stages of shaping and sanding before it is hand painted with actual, historically researched, squadron insignias, nose art, emblems and serial numbers. Hand-made bombs, rockets, missiles and droptanks are added as appropriate to represent the actual weapons and external load of the aircraft. Finally, this beautiful model is painted with several coats of clear lacquer to protect the exquisite artwork and to provide an overall glossy finish. The swing wings actually work on this model(Note: the wing assemblies are constructed of plastic to facilitate movement). The F-14A model comes with a natural stained mahogany stand with a brass nameplate depicting the model's designation. The F-14A model is a 1:48 scale reproduction. Two Navy squadrons are available: Sundowners and Jolly Rogers. No assembly required. Please inquire about the many other models available. Call toll free 1-888-536-1877 or send us an e-mail.
